Cards.Fast vs Quizlet

Quizlet won school. Shared sets, games, a link for the class. If Friday’s quiz is the job, that is the tool.

I did not build this for Friday’s quiz. I built it because I never wrote my own cards, and I want my kids to actually remember things, not cram a set someone else made.

Sign up on app.cards.fast. Private. One deck and a hundred cards, free. Paid is $5 a month or $36 a year. Look at Quizlet’s site for their price.

Who Quizlet is for

Quizlet is for students and teachers who want a set in minutes. Search. Copy. Cram with Learn, Match, or a live game. Share the link with a class.

That is a good product for a group and a deadline. It is a weak product for a private memory you want to keep for years.

Learn mode can feel smart in one sitting. It is not a queue that comes back tomorrow because yesterday was Hard. Anki does that. Mochi does that. We do that. Quizlet does a different thing, well.

Who Cards.Fast is for

Cards.Fast is for one person and an agent.

You sign up. You connect ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok to https://app.cards.fast/mcp. The agent writes atomic cards from your notes, not from a popular set about “biology chapter 4.” Cards wait in Inbox. You accept what is true. Then you review on a schedule.

No class code. No shared deck browser. No learn-it-for-the-game-night loop.

Start with an agent is the page. Features is the longer why.

Shared decks vs your notes

Quizlet’s library is the reason it won schools. It is also the reason the cards often feel like someone else’s homework. Copied paragraphs. Lists. Terms without a question that stands alone.

Cards.Fast’s writing rules are the opposite. One fact. A front that stands alone. A short back. No list cards. No invented facts. The agent is supposed to follow that. You still check Inbox, because agents lie.

If you want a pre-made set, use Quizlet. If you want cards from the thing you actually read, use an agent and Inbox.

You can send a copy of a deck you own. They import it. Theirs, not live sync. That is not a catalog, and it is not Quizlet.

Leaving

You can export from Cards.Fast to Anki, Mochi, CSV, or Markdown.

We do not export a Quizlet-shaped classroom set. That is not the product.

What we will not claim

We will not say Cards.Fast is a better Quizlet. It is a different product. No live games. No class sets. No search box full of other people’s biology.

We will not chase “flashcards” as if that word is the whole category. A Quizlet set and an FSRS queue are not the same habit.

If you need the class to see the same set tonight, use Quizlet.

When to pick which

Pick Quizlet if you need a shared set, a class, or a cram session this week.

Pick Cards.Fast if you want a private FSRS queue, an inbox, and an agent that writes.

Pick Anki if you want the deep desktop SRS. Pick Mochi if you want to write Markdown cards by hand. Those essays: vs Anki, vs Mochi.
