FAQ

What is Cards.Fast?

Cards.Fast is a hosted study app. An agent writes the cards. You accept the ones you want. Then you review them on a schedule.

Is Cards.Fast free?

Yes. A free Cards.Fast account is one deck and one hundred cards. A second deck, or card one hundred and one, is $5 a month or $36 a year. Family is $10 a month or $60 a year for four seats, invited by email from Settings. There is no trial.

Does Cards.Fast read cards aloud?

Yes, if you pay. It is off by default. It speaks the question. Extra and the answer can speak too. Mute and Replay sit on the card. You still grade with Again, Hard, Good, and Easy. Read-aloud comes with Paid ($5 a month or $36 a year) or Family ($10 a month or $60 a year). There is no trial.

What is an AI flashcard generator?

An AI flashcard generator turns notes into cards. Cards.Fast is that, plus a study queue: the agent writes, you accept in Inbox, then you review.

Can Claude write my flashcards?

Cards.Fast works with ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok when they sign in. Grok Bot, Cursor, Claude Code, and the CLI use a token from Settings.

Can AI-written flashcards be trusted?

Not blindly. Cards.Fast puts new agent cards in Inbox so you can check them. One fact per card. Do not invent. Accept what is true.

What is the Inbox?

Inbox is import, agent, and share-from-a-friend. Only cards you type skip Inbox. Nothing is due until you accept. Edit or dismiss the rest.

Can I make flashcards from a PDF or my notes?

Yes. Give the PDF or notes to the agent you connected to Cards.Fast. There is no separate PDF upload. Cards land in Inbox.

What is spaced repetition?

Spaced repetition shows you a card again just before you forget it. Cards.Fast uses that for review, with FSRS-5, after you accept cards from Inbox.

What do Again, Hard, Good, and Easy mean?

They are how you rate a card in Cards.Fast after you see the answer. Again means you missed it. Hard, Good, and Easy mean you knew it, with more or less work. That sets the next review.

How many cards should I study per day?

Cards.Fast does not set a daily number for you. Review what is due. Start small. Imported cards, agent cards, and shared cards stay in Inbox until you accept them. Cards you type skip Inbox.

What scheduling algorithm does Cards.Fast use?

Cards.Fast uses FSRS-5. We did not invent a scheduler.

How is Cards.Fast different from Anki?

Anki assumes you will write the cards. Cards.Fast assumes an agent writes them, and you accept them in Inbox before they are due. Anki is deeper. We are not Anki made easy.

Can I import my Anki deck?

Yes. Cards.Fast imports Anki .apkg, .colpkg, and .anki2 on /import, including pictures. The old Anki schedule does not come over. CSV and Markdown work there too. Imported cards land in Inbox, held. Nothing is due until you accept.

Can I put a picture on a card?

Yes. On a card you write, you can add a picture to the question or the answer. JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WebP. About 2 MB.

Can I share a deck?

Yes. If you own the deck, you can send a copy. Free, Paid, or any Family seat. They choose to import. Cards land in their Inbox. Theirs, not live sync. Your deck stays yours. It is not a catalog.

Can I export my cards?

Yes. Cards.Fast exports to Anki, Mochi, CSV, or Markdown. Use Export in the app or the CLI.

Can teens use Cards.Fast?

Yes, if they are 13 or older. Anyone under 18 needs a parent's or guardian's OK. There is no separate kids plan.

Eric built Cards.Fast so his kids could study without writing cards.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. In Cards.Fast, open Settings, then Manage billing. That is Stripe. We do not promise a refund.

What happens to my cards if I stop paying?

You keep your cards in Cards.Fast. Extra decks and cards past one hundred go back under the free limit. Export still works.
