Prompts for the agent that writes your cards.
You already have an agent. Cards.Fast is where the cards wait. Copy a prompt. Paste it. Accept what is true.
Connect at https://app.cards.fast/mcp. One deck and a hundred cards are free. Individual is $5 a month or $36 a year. Family is $10 a month or $60 a year for four seats. No trial.
How to work with an agent
- Give the agent the writing guide first. The prompts below do that.
- Give sources, not topics, when facts matter. “Card this chapter” beats “card biology.”
- Ask small. Fifteen or thirty cards, not two hundred. You review every Inbox card.
- Reject freely, and say why. The next batch gets better.
- Card your mistakes, not your notes.
- Ask for recall, not recognition. No multiple choice. No yes or no.
- Make it a loop. Use the daily-habit prompt at the end of the day.
From this conversation
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. Turn only what I got wrong or had to ask about into cards. Skip what I already knew. One fact per card. A question that stands alone. A short back. Do not invent. Tell me when they are in Inbox.
Starter
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. Write 15 cards on [topic] at a beginner level. One fact per card. Front stands alone. Short back. Do not invent. Tell me when they are in Inbox.
From a PDF or notes
Give the file to the agent. To import Anki, CSV, or Markdown yourself, use [app.cards.fast/import](https://app.cards.fast/import). Those cards land in Inbox.
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. Here is my source. Write cards only from facts in it. Do not add outside facts. Do not invent. One fact per card. Front stands alone. Short back. Aim for 20–30 cards. Tag [tag]. Set the source to [name]. I gave you the file.
The daily habit
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. It is the end of my study day. Ask me three questions about what I learned. Then card my answers, and card the gaps where I was weak. One fact per card. Tell me when they are in Inbox.
Fix my deck
The MCP prompt is audit_deck. Cards.Fast does not judge cards.
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. Run audit_deck on [deck]. Fetch cards + stats with list_cards include_stats. Judge vs the writing guide. create_cards rewrites into Inbox. List ids for archive_cards only after I accept the replacements. Nothing archived without accept.
The 90-day plan
A plan, then cards. No percentile. No “top 1%.”
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. I want a working level in [topic] in 90 days. Make a weekly plan that uses spaced repetition, interleaving, and active recall. Do week one now: write 20 cards and send them to Inbox. When I ask next week, write the next batch from what my reviews show I missed.
Language
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. Write 20 cards from the vocabulary in this text for [language]. For each word: one card [language] to English, one English to [language]. One short example on the back. One fact per card. Tell me when they are in Inbox.
Exam
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. Write 20 cards from this lecture or chapter for [exam]. Only facts in the source. One fact per card. Front is a question I could see on a test. Short back. Do not invent. Tell me when they are in Inbox.
Code
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. Write 15 cards from this code or docs. Card the API, the failure mode, and the thing I would forget in six months. One fact per card. No yes or no. Tell me when they are in Inbox.
After you missed questions
This one earned a slot. Same job as rule 5.
Use my Cards.Fast tools. Read the writing guide (`cards://writing-guide`) first. Send all new cards to my Inbox. I missed these questions. Card each miss. One fact per card. Front stands alone. Short back. Do not invent a fuller lecture. Tell me when they are in Inbox.
